IEP Review & Recommendations
Because an IEP should be more than compliant—it should be effective.
Service Description
A Comprehensive IEP Review & Strategic Recommendations is an in-depth, expert analysis of your child’s Individualized Education Program to determine whether it is legally compliant, educationally appropriate, and reasonably calculated to support meaningful progress. This service goes far beyond a surface-level review. SPERO conducts a line-by-line examination of the IEP through the lens of IDEA, applicable state education codes, and key case law (including Endrew F.) to identify gaps, red flags, and areas where the plan may fail to meet the student’s unique needs. Each section of the IEP is evaluated for clarity, data integrity, internal alignment, and ethical sufficiency—from Present Levels and goals, to services, accommodations, placement, and implementation. Parents receive a clear, written report outlining: Areas of compliance and non-compliance Missing or weak data that undermines decision-making Goals that are not measurable, ambitious, or aligned to present levels Services, supports, or evaluations that may be warranted but omitted Language that may indicate predetermination, under-serving, or procedural risk Practical, actionable recommendations for strengthening the IEP Recommendations are grounded in best practice, educational research, and legal standards, and are written in plain language so families understand not just what needs to change—but why. This service empowers parents to enter meetings informed, confident, and prepared—whether their goal is collaboration, clarification, or formal dispute resolution. This is not legal advice or a medical diagnosis. It is expert educational analysis designed to restore balance, transparency, and accountability to the IEP process. *This service is billed at $300 for the first five hours and $50 for each additional hour thereafter.
