IEP meeting prep and representation
Walk into the meeting prepared—not pressured.
Service Description
The IEP Meeting Prep Packet is a strategic, pre-meeting service designed to ensure parents enter an IEP meeting informed, organized, and confident, with a clear plan and documented priorities. SPERO reviews key educational documents—including the current IEP, evaluations, progress reports, and relevant communication—to identify strengths, gaps, and areas requiring clarification or correction. Based on this review, we create a customized parent agenda that outlines what must be addressed during the meeting to ensure the IEP is both compliant and responsive to the student’s needs. Parents receive: A clear meeting agenda aligned to IDEA requirements A list of “must-ask” questions tied to data, services, and implementation Priority requests (what to push for, what can wait, and what requires documentation) Guidance on language to use to keep the meeting focused and on record Red flags to watch for, including vague responses, deferrals, or predetermination This service is ideal for parents who want to lead the meeting effectively, reduce overwhelm, and avoid being caught off-guard by technical language or shifting narratives.
