Annual Review Readiness Audit
Prevent a rubber-stamp IEP before it happens.
Service Description
The Annual Review Readiness Audit prepares families for annual IEP meetings by ensuring the plan reflects current data, evolving needs, and appropriate ambition—not just a copy-and-paste update. SPERO reviews the existing IEP, progress data, and any new evaluations to determine: What sections must be updated or strengthened Which goals, services, or placements need reconsideration Whether progress data supports continuation, change, or intensification of services Where the IEP may be vulnerable to under-serving or vague language Parents receive: A summary of what is working and what is not A list of recommended updates and requests Guidance on what data to bring (and what data to ask the school to provide) Strategies to avoid passive agreement and ensure meaningful discussion Preparation for potential pushback and how to respond This service helps families shift the annual review from a procedural obligation into a purposeful planning meeting centered on growth, accountability, and student outcomes.
